Custom pier and dock wall murals

A dock stretching into still water gives the eye a path to follow. Weathered boards, reflections and an open sky can make a simple scene feel spacious, while a harbour or coastal pier introduces more detail and movement. The dockside view is made to your wall measurements on textured matte 6 mil material with a non-reflective finish.

More about this collection

Look at the position of the vanishing point and the amount of foreground: both shape how the view will sit inside your room. Each mural is sized to your wall measurements, with the crop checked around furniture and openings. For a bedroom, living room or reception area, choose the light and water colours that work with the setting. The right composition should remain clear even when a bed or sofa covers part of the lower wall.

Place the vanishing point thoughtfully

A centred dock creates a strong axis; an angled pier leads the eye to one side. Compare that direction with the bed, seating or doorway. A symmetrical photograph may feel unbalanced if a tall cabinet hides one half of the scene.

Check the foreground above furniture

The near end of a dock often explains the photograph’s perspective. Mark the furniture height before choosing the crop so the useful lines remain visible. An image with a higher horizon or more open water may suit a wall whose lower section is largely covered.

Choose the mood of the water and sky

A pale morning, vivid sunset and overcast lake create very different palettes. Consider how those colours will appear with your existing lighting and textiles. If using a personal lakeside photo, supply the original file for assessment at the planned wall size.

Your questions — Piers and docks

Which dock image works well behind a bed?

Check the height of the headboard and keep enough of the dock’s lines visible to preserve the perspective. A very low foreground may be hidden.

Does a centred pier suit an off-centre wall layout?

It can, but review the relationship with furniture and doors. An angled composition may offer a better balance when the visible wall is uneven.

Can the horizon be kept on a tall wall?

That depends on the original image proportions. Review the crop and consider a more vertical view if both the dock and the sky are important.

Can I print a photo of the dock at my cottage?

You can submit the original photograph when you have the right to reproduce it. Its quality needs to support the requested dimensions.

Can I use a dock mural in a business reception area?

Yes as a decorative choice. Select a readable composition and review the material and maintenance requirements for the location separately.
